The local business first became involved with Widnes Vikings during the 2019 season, taking out Match Sponsorship, Pitchside Advertising and Digital Sponsorship. Supporter will have seen the Whelan Pest Prevention brand associated with last season’s ‘Whack of the Week’ feature on social media.
Digital Sponsorship continued into 2020, with the newly branded Whelan Pest Prevention Magic Moment, but the partnership also grew as the local business opted to become official Kit Partners.
The Whelan Pest Prevention logo is proudly displayed on the socks of all three Vikings kits for the 2020 season, and the company also provided a surprise for members of the Learning Disability Super League team at our Challenge Cup tie against Oldham.
After taking out Match Sponsorship for the visit of the Roughyeds, owner Chris Smith held a prize draw to award two places in their Executive Box to members of the LD Super League team. Chris also held a draw to giveaway his commemorative signed and framed 2020 shirt to one of the members of the team, and has been a huge supporter of the club’s Learning Disability team.
During the current Coronavirus pandemic, work hasn’t stopped for Whelan Pest Prevention, as the nature of their industry means that their staff are key workers. The current role of the company includes keeping food establishments, care homes and businesses safe from pests for hygiene purposes.
Domestic cases are also continuing, but only under strict distancing rules to protect the health of their customers and staff.
As the country looks ahead to post-lockdown, Whelan Pest Prevention are also assisting businesses who are gearing up to return to work safely.
