SAM WILDE JOINS NORTH WALES CRUSADERS FOR 2025

Widnes Vikings can confirm that Sam Wilde will depart the club at the end of the season to join North Wales Crusaders.

Following a change in work commitments Sam Wilde will depart the club at the end of 2024.

Head Coach Allan Coleman said: “I’m gutted we couldn’t keep hold of Sam.

“We had some really good conversations around his future, initially he was going to retire due to his new job as he joins the fire service but then he told us he wanted to stay.

“However, he will be working four on, four off shifts which can be really difficult for making training and being available for matchdays.

“He’s been honest with us since day one and he’s been brilliant for me and Widnes.

“North Wales have offered him a contract and obviously with them playing fewer games that was more appealing to Sam to fit around his new work commitments.

“We wish him the best of luck and can’t thank him enough for his services but he’s got another ten games with us and if he plays like he has been we can hopefully make it into the playoffs.”

Everyone at the club would like to thank Sam for his efforts and wish him all the best, let’s finish on a high.
