Last season, the 21-year-old featured on four occasions for the first team and also played a game on loan at North Wales Crusaders at the beginning of September.
On signing a new deal, Brookes said: “Staying was a no-brainer for me. I just want to play rugby at the highest level I can with a good set of lads, and that’s achievable by playing for this club.
“I’m very excited for the upcoming season, and I think its gonna be good for both me personally and the club as a whole.”

With a number of fresh faces entering the Vikings setup as John Kear’s 2023 squad continues to take shape, Brookes is hopeful that he can enhance his claims of featuring more regularly next season.
“Competition for places is high in this team, but as long as I stay fit, I believe I can play a lot games,” he said.
“As a team, we need to be getting to the play-offs this year, and I want to be a part of that.”
