Widnes Vikings utility back Matt Fleming admits he has enjoyed the switch to full-back in recent weeks.
Fleming has been playing at the back since the club’s Betfred Challenge Cup fourth round defeat to Dewsbury Rams, with Jack Owens moving into the halves for recent fixtures.
The 29-year-old previously played at full-back during the Vikings’ 80-4 victory over Wests Warriors in the previous round, scoring twice.
Fleming, who can play at centre, full-back or on the wing, says he is happy to slot in wherever he is needed, to help the wider goals of the team.

“It was something we worked on in training,” he admitted. “John (Kear) picked up that we weren’t really pushing up with each other enough.

“We had a big emphasis on that through the week [ahead of the Swinton game], and that’s sort of how it came about. We just worked on it a lot and obviously it came off.

“You’ve just got to be there and in those key positions.”
