LIAM BENT JOINS ROCHDALE HORNETS ON SHORT-TERM LOAN

Vikings forward Liam Bent has joined Rochdale Hornets on a short-term loan.

Bent, who spent most of last season recovering from an ACL operation, has not yet been able to force his way back into the side this season and after talks with Head Coach Allan Coleman, both parties felt it was the best thing for him to go and get match fitness.

The initial one-month loan can be reviewed after 14 days and then terminated or extended.

Coleman said: “Liam is still an important part of our squad but with a relatively fit group at the moment and the form of the players already in the 17. I discussed with Liam if he wanted to go and get game time elsewhere for now.

“It is always a difficult balancing act keeping everybody happy but this solution with Rochdale, helps them, us, and the player.

“It goes without saying we will be keeping a keen eye on Liam whilst he is there, as we are with Lloyd Roby and anybody else who goes out on loan.”
