We can confirm the signing of Leigh Centurions back Kieran Dixon on an initial two-week loan deal.
The 29-year-old can play both on the wing and at fullback, and has a wealth of experience at Championship level having previously played for London Broncos and York City Knights as well as in the Super League with Hull Kingston Rovers and London.
Dixon’s arrival comes amidst several injuries in the Vikings squad, with eight missing out on last Friday’s visit of Leigh as well as another three players coming off injured during the game.
Kieran has previously played at representative level with England Knights, making two international appearances back in 2012.
He has amassed a total of 205 appearances during his career so far, scoring 143 tries and kicking 284 goals for a total of 1140 points to date.
On joining the Vikings, Kieran said: “I’m looking forward to this opportunity to express my talents on the field.”
Kieran also spoke about what he can bring to the team over the next couple of weeks: “A lot of energy. I like to get involved and try and take some pressure off the forwards with the amount I carry the ball out of yardage.”
Dixon joins up with the Vikings squad this week and is straight into contention to face Batley Bulldogs this Sunday at the DCBL Stadium.
On the prospect of facing Batley this weekend, Kieran said: “They’re a team who are doing well so far this year, but they’re beatable, the same as anyone in the league. I think we just go into this game all guns blazing and not hold anything back. We’ve got more than enough to pull out the win and try and find that winning streak again.”
