Widnes Vikings can confirm that Jack Houghton has joined Rochdale Hornets on loan.
The move will see Houghton link up with the Betfred Championship side to gain valuable gametime, and he is in line to feature in their clash with Whitehaven this weekend.
The club has retained a call-back option on Jack should he be needed.
Head Coach Allan Coleman said: “Jack’s been training well with us, he’s had a couple of opportunities against Thatto Heath and Workington, but he’s probably a little bit behind what we’ve got at the minute.
“He’s a valued member of this squad, though, and it’s vital he gets some game time rather than sitting in the stands.
“We’ve had some good conversations with him about it, and he’s been really open to it, so we’ll be keeping a close eye on him at Rochdale.”
