Widnes Vikings and Rochdale Hornets have agreed to terminate the dual-registration agreement signed between the two clubs earlier in the year.
The dual-registration agreement between both clubs was set to enable members of the Vikings first team squad to enjoy additional game time by featuring for the Betfred League 1 side during the 2023 season.
Head of operations Chris Hamilton said: “As a result of our injuries this season, we have not had players available to send to Rochdale as we would have liked, both in numbers and frequency.
“Rochdale have therefore decided to look at other opportunities to get players in as they also have injuries, which we understand.
“Although the agreement is no longer in place, there is still a good relationship between the clubs and there may be other opportunities for players to go on loan at a future date.”
The Vikings can also confirm that forward Jacob Jones has been recalled by parent club Leigh Leopards.
Jones arrived at the Vikings at the beginning of May and went on to make four appearances for the club. We thank him for his contribution this season.
