DANNY LANGTREE PENS TWO YEAR EXTENSION

Widnes Vikings are delighted to announce that Danny Langtree has signed a new two-year deal that will keep him with the club until the end of 2027.

Langtree, 34, signed for the Vikings ahead of last season and has gone on to make 26 appearances, scoring 8 tries.

He has appeared in 16 of our 17 competitive fixtures this season, missing his first game of the season last weekend against Halifax.

On his new deal, Langtree said: “I’m buzzing to get it done. I’ve really enjoyed my time here so far. I get on well with all the lads, and I love playing under Allan; he’s a great coach.

“We just want to improve all the time. Every game we need to be getting better, and hopefully we can get into the playoffs come the end of the season.”

Head Coach Allan Coleman said: “It’s fantastic to keep Langers, as I’m sure everyone has seen this year, he’s been a really important player for us.

“He’s a real threat, most teams fear him, and I think he’s got the most clean breaks for us so far this season.

“It’s massive for us to keep him for his experience and the environment we’re trying to build here. It was a no-brainer and I’m over the moon to get it done.”

Danny is sponsored by Halton & St Helens VCA for 2025.

Retentions like this are assisted by the fantastic Widnes VIPS scheme in place to assist in strengthening the Vikings’ squad. If fans wish to sign up for the scheme, they can do so here

Everyone at the club is delighted to see Danny extend his stay and can’t wait to see him pulling on the jersey for the next two years.
