As this academic year draws to a close, the Vikings Sports Foundation would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all of our students who have studied at the Vikings Learning Centre over the course of 2019/2020.
The last year the Vikings Learning Centre has seen many changes, with many ups and downs before having to devise plans to combat how the course is delivered to students in a socially distant manner due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
We are overjoyed that our action plan has been successful, leading to our students continuing to give their courses 100% engagement. This has led to Vikings Learning Centre gaining the brilliant outcomes with a Pass Rate which stands at 92%, as well as 76% of our students choosing to return to mainstream education for September 2020.
When lockdown was enforced, our educational courses were taken online – with a number of Adults signing up to our FREE 19+ Employability Course. A small number of students worked towards and online qualification in Employability Skills, which we hope will enable them to feel confident and knowledgeable when applying for jobs in the future.
Another huge success story has been our Partnership with Community Integrated Care, which has seen the Vikings Learning Centre work with the charity to provide an educational programme via online live lesson to help build confidence and develop independence to the learners. This has been a fantastic programme and a huge success which everyone involved has found really enjoyable, marking the start of what we hope is a lengthy partnership with Community Integrated Care which will provide fantastic opportunities.
Our partnership with Riverside College has grown from strength to strength over the course of the year, too. The support and guidance from Riverside College has been fantastic, enabling the Vikings Learning Centre to be a huge success once again, and we already can’t wait to be back in the classroom with our new students in the coming academic year.
Finally, from everyone at the Vikings Sports Foundation and the Vikings Learning Centre we’d like to say a very big WELL DONE to all our students from this year – we are so proud of you and wish you all the success in the future.
