CHANGE TO COMPANION/ACCESSIBLE TICKETING POLICY

Widnes Vikings are committed to making DCBL Stadium welcoming and accessible for all supporters.

We are updating the club’s companion ticketing criteria and application process. This change brings us in line with updated approaches being adopted across the sport, ensuring a fair and consistent process for all supporters.

From today, companion tickets will only be issued when an applicant can demonstrate entitlement to one of the specified proofs of eligibility listed below.

All supporters wishing to access companion provision (even if they have previously held a companion ticket) must complete the new accessible profile and provide the required evidence. Companion tickets will not be issued on any other grounds.

Who can receive a free companion ticket?

A free companion ticket may be issued when the eligible supporter can show entitlement to one of the following:

  • Receipt of the higher rate mobility component or higher rate care component of Disability Living Allowance (DLA).

  • A BD8 Certificate — for visually impaired supporters only.

You should also be able to display an up-to-date photographic ID.

The club will only accept the documents above as evidence for issuing a free companion ticket.

How to apply/set up an accessible profile
  1. Contact the club office to set up an accessible profile. This can be done:

    • In person at the club shop

    • By phone: 0151 495 2250.

  2. During the profile setup you will be asked to provide the relevant evidence (one of the items listed above).

  3. The club will use this accessible profile to manage companion ticket provision going forward.

Please note: Companion tickets cannot be purchased online. Accessible tickets and companion tickets can only be obtained in-store or over the phone on 0151 495 2250.

Important conditions
  • One companion only: Under no circumstances will more than one companion be issued to any eligible person unless they have a valid carers card showing a requirement for two carers.

  • Companion must attend with eligible person: Companion tickets are issued on the basis that they are used to attend the game with the eligible accessible supporter and not on their own. Access control checks will be carried out; if a companion ticket is used in breach of these terms, the club reserves the right to revoke the carer/companion ticket.

  • Annual and Spot checks: The Club reserves the right to periodically check that an applicant remains eligible for companion provision. This may occur at the start of or during each season.

  • All applicants must comply: This new verification process must be undertaken by all fans wishing to access a companion provision, irrespective of previous arrangements.

Widnes Vikings are fully committed to equality and to providing safe, fair access to matches for all supporters. These changes are intended to protect capacity for genuine companion provision, ensure fairness for all fans, and maintain the integrity of our accessible-ticketing process.

If you have any questions, need assistance setting up your accessible profile, or have difficulties supplying evidence, please get in touch with the club office, and we will help you.
