Widnes Vikings can confirm that Calum O’Neil has departed the club in order to pursue other opportunities and interests away from the sport.
A product of the club’s Academy, Calum joined the Scholarship Programme at the age of 14 from local community club Halton Farnworth Hornets before progressing all the way through to the First Team.
After becoming a standout figure in the Vikings Academy side, O’Neill made his debut during the 2019 season at home to Leigh Centurions, capping a memorable afternoon with a try in front of his family.
An Ireland international at U16 and U19 level, the prop forward departs having made four appearances and scored one try.
The club would like to thank Calum for his efforts for the club throughout his time with the Vikings, and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
Calum O’Neill was proudly sponsored by Emerald Kalama for the 2021 season.
