Widnes Vikings travel to FLAIR Stadium this Sunday to face Dewsbury Rams in Round 10 of the Betfred Championship (3pm kick-off).
It will be the first of back-to-back games against the Rams, with the two sides meeting again in West Yorkshire next weekend in the first round of this season’s 1895 Cup.
Allan Coleman’s side will also hope to bounce back quickly from the disappointment of their 18-8 defeat to Barrow Raiders last time out on Good Friday.

📰 Squad news
Kieran Taylor comes into the squad in place of Jumah Sambou, who was helped off the field injured during last week’s defeat at Barrow. Matt Fleming is currently sidelined due to a hand injury.
If selected, Matty Fozard will make his 300th career appearance, 125 of which have come in Widnes Vikings colours.

🥊 The opposition
Dewsbury Rams have endured a mixed start to the season, winning four and losing four of their opening eight league games.
Having tasted victory in their opening three matches, the Rams have won just one of the next five.
Their most recent outings saw a two-point defeat at home to Sheffield Eagles, before a 21-20 defeat at at Batley Bulldogs on Good Friday, and Paul March’s side will no-doubt be keen to avenge those recent losses.
Dewsbury Rams 21-man squad: Charlie Abraham, Jacob Bateman, Daniel Coates, Louis Collinson, Liam Copland, Thomas Delaney, Toby Everett, Brad Graham, Jacob Hookem, Ellis Lingard, Craig McShane, Jack McShane, Luke Mearns, Luke Nelmes, Bailey O’Connor, George Rayner, George Senior, Joseph Summers, Valu Tane Bentley, Declan Tomlinson, Louie Walker
⏪ Record against Dewsbury
The Vikings have won on their last two trips to Dewsbury in the league, the most recent of which saw Matty Fozard score twice in a 24-6 victory back in July 2024. However, sandwiched between those victories was a 32-12 defeat in the Betfred Challenge Cup a year earlier.
Last time the two teams faced off at the DCBL Stadium, the Vikings were 34-12 winners – Fozard again scoring twice, continuing a fine record of scoring in each of his last three meetings with the Rams.
Last five meetings:
- Widnes 34-12 Dewsbury (Championship R15, 14/7/24)
- Dewsbury 6-24 Widnes (Championship R3, 7/4/24)
- Dewsbury 32-12 Widnes (Challenge Cup R4, 2/4/23)
