Ten-month-old Rubie has recently been diagnosed with an extremely rare condition called Microcephalic Osteodisplastic Primordial Dwarfism Type 1 (MOPD1). Worldwide, there are only a couple of hundred known cases.
MOPD1 sadly comes with a very poor prognosis, and most children diagnosed with the condition do not live beyond their third birthday.
Despite this heartbreaking reality, Rubie’s parents are determined to give her the very best life possible, filled with love, comfort, and memories, while also creating special moments for Rubie’s three older siblings during the precious time they have together.
In response, family and friends have rallied around Rubie and her parents in an incredible show of support.
The family have been gifted a hospitality package for the North Wales vs Widnes fixture on 12 July at Stadiwm CSM, which they are hoping to auction off to raise further funds for Rubie’s care.
To maximise the impact of this, the family is keen for the opportunity to present this to supporters and the wider rugby league community.
