VIKINGS TAKE PART IN TEAM BUILDING DAY

The Viking’s first team and staff took part in a team-building day this past weekend.

Last Saturday not only saw the Vikings hold a very successful club team training day, followed by 6 teams from local community clubs, West Bank Bears, Halton Farnworth Hornets, and Moorfield Tigers trained by Vikings players on the DCBL Stadium pitch, but then the whole of the First team squad and staff completed a fantastic team building day.

Naturally, the idea behind this was to get the squad working together on a series of non-rugby tasks, some physical, some mental, and some both.

The day was led by Archie Taylor, ex-military who has worked with other clubs previously.

The day-long session took place both in the performance Centre at the stadium and on the pitch.

The players had lunch in the Bridge Suite and then following the completion of the day the staff and squad were treated to a meal at San Marino in the town centre.

Head Coach Allan Coleman said: “We have been planning this whole day for a while. It was great to build relationships with the other teams at the club and then to work with some of the junior teams in the town.

“The team building day will make us tighter as a group and these things then come together when we are on the pitch, particularly during tough phases of a game.

“The lads and staff really bought into what we are doing and we hope to see the rewards as the season goes on.”

The video below shows some of the elements involved as we look to build the culture at the club.
