2025 END OF SEASON AWARDS NIGHT

Catch up on all the awards and announcements from Wednesday’s End of Season Award Night for 2025.

Dan Murray was the big winner at the Vikings’ 2025 Season Presentation Night, picking up the Coaches’ and Players’ Player of the Season Awards in an action-packed evening at the DCBL Stadium.

To start the night, Head Coach Allan Coleman was on stage to give his assessment of the 2025 campaign.

The first award of the night was the 2025 Try of the Season, which was awarded to Matt Fleming for his fantastic try against Warrington in the Challenge Cup.

Next up was our Chairman’s Award, which was given to Danny Durbin for his outstanding volunteer work with the club’s Future Vikings Programme.

After a two-course meal, we bid farewell to the players who would be departing the club.

Declan Patton, Gavin Bennion, Brett Bailey, Rhodri Lloyd, and Rhys Williams will all move on to pastures new in 2026.

A special recognition was then given to Team Manager, Liam Clark, who received the ‘Unsung Hero Award’ as he departs the Vikings after over 10 years of impeccable service.

Next up was the 2025 Players’ Player of the Season. The award was presented by Club Captain, Jack Owens, to Dan Murray, who enjoyed an impressive season in 2025, where he appeared in all of the Vikings’ fixtures.

Murray was soon called back to the stage as Head Coach Allan Coleman presented the forward with the Coaches’ Player of the Season Award.

The final award of the evening was our Fans’ Player of the Season. We’ve been asking YOU to vote for your Man of the Match after every game in 2025.

Going back through those poll results from January onwards, we totted up the rankings of each survey and awarded points as such.

It was a close one, but Joe Edge edged out Matty Fozard and Liam Bent to pick up the final award of the evening.

We closed out the night with some special recognitions for some key members of the club. First was Club Photographer Ste Jones, who brought up his 20th season with the Vikings this year.

We then bid farewell to our long-standing mascot, Tony Spruce, who officially retired (again) as Kemik the Viking after pulling on the costume for the last 15 years!
