Following on from the RFL’s announcement regarding the structure of the Championship, Widnes Vikings would like to update supporters on the club’s plans regarding the launch and sale of Season Tickets for the 2021 campaign.
The club is aiming to provide a product that provides the best value to supporters, taking into account the numerous different potential scenarios that could present themselves once the 2021 season gets underway.
Plans have been well underway to launch the Season Ticket packages in due course, however until the landscape of this year becomes clearer the club have made the decision to delay this.
On a number of occasions, the club has referenced the incredible support of our fans and how integral that has been in ensuring that we were able to emerge from a tough 2020 in the most financially stable position possible.
Taking this into account, as well as the difficult situation that many people will find themselves in due to the pandemic, the club will be pricing 2021 Season Ticket to reflect this.
So far there have been numerous difficult issues for the RFL to resolve with regards to the season, and due to this the club felt it only right to try and sell a product to our supporters with a more considered and informed understanding of how 2021 could look.
When the season does begin it is likely that some of the season will be played behind closed doors and then possibly with a limited capacity; this has and will continue to be taken into consideration prior to launching Season Tickets.
In the event that the season starts behind closed doors, the club will be committed to investing in the live streaming of these fixtures and including access to this within the Season Ticket package.
Ultimately, our aim is to strike the right balance between running the business effectively and doing right by our fans, which is why we have so far made the decision to delay the sale of Season Tickets until a clearer picture of 2021 has been presented.
The announcement of the competition structure from the RFL this afternoon, and the confirmation of all 2021 fixtures which will be revealed in due course, will be reflected in our finalised Season Ticket offering.
The club will communicate all the relevant information regarding our pricing structure, different categories and benefits included with supporters on our social media platforms and website.
