VIKINGS LDRL TEAM SHIRT LAUNCH

During half-time of last Sunday’s game with Wakefield, we revealed the new shirts for our Vikings LDRL team ahead of their upcoming festival.

The team came onto the pitch at half-time accompanied by our 2024 LDRL kit sponsors for a lap of honour in front of the Vikings faithful.

Our LDRL kit sponosrs for 2024 are, DCBL, Visit Halton, Emris Servies and Cheshire Fire & Rescue.

Foundation Director, Simon Fox said: “The smiles and excitement from every member of the LDSL team on Sunday shows us how important this is to the players, the Foundation, the Club, and the community.

“Every one of the commercial partners took time to meet, greet, and chat to the team and see exactly what it means to them and their families.”

He added: “We’d like to thank DCBL, Visit Halton, Emris Servies, and Cheshire Fire & Rescue for coming to see firsthand how their donations for the LDSL team are being put to great use.

“The team will wear their brand new shirts with real pride this weekend at the upcoming RFL LDSL Festival at Victoria Park, Warrington.”

Darren Connor, DCBL Managing Director, said: “DCBL is thrilled to be the main sponsor for the Widnes Vikings Learning Disability Rugby League team on a multi-year basis. This is just one of the ways we continue to support the local community.

“It is a privilege to be able to support the Widnes Vikings Learning Disability Rugby league team, the enthusiasm they bring to the game, with their individual challenges, is a credit to them and the club for providing such a great platform to encourage participation in sport.

“The team at DCBL looks forward to seeing how the team progresses throughout the season.”

Paul Rostance, Station Manager for Chesire Fire & Rescue: “Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service is delighted to be a kit sponsor for the Widnes Vikings LDRL Team for the 2024 season.

“In line with our vision and mission,  our connection with the Club will help us in promoting a safer Cheshire and changing lives in our community.

“The Club’s profile and far-reaching connections will support our prevention activity to keep the community safe. This activity includes helping to reduce the chance of fires happening in the first place and delivering road safety campaigns to reduce the number of road traffic collisions.”

Chris Smith, Company Director of Emris Services said: “I was born and bred in Widnes. When I got involved with Widnes Vikings as a sponsor, I was determined that I would also support the LDRL Team.

“It is close to my heart, with having family members who are affected by autism and disabilities.

“It’s a big boost for me when I see the team smiling and getting so much enjoyment out of it.

Steph Davies, Programmes Office Manager for Halton Borough Council said: “Visit Halton is delighted to support Widnes Vikings Learning Disability Rugby League team as a 2024 kit sponsor.

“The team is a vital part of the Halton community, and it is great to see the enthusiasm and passion from all involved.

“Halton must be accessible and inclusive for both its residents and visitors, and we are proud to support the Vikings as the LDRL team provides the opportunity for all people with a disability to get out and be active and have fun in a non-competitive environment.”
