Widnes Vikings are delighted to announce that Matt Fleming has signed a new two-year deal that will keep him with the club until the end of 2026.
Fleming, 28, joined the club ahead of the 2022 season, he has made 72 appearances for the Vikings, scoring 11 tries.
He scored three tries in 21 appearances in 2024.
On his new deal, Fleming said: “I just can’t wait to get back out there with the lads again and hopefully go even further next year.
“The feeling around the club this year has excited me to be honest. It’s a great feeling to have such amazing support from the fans this year and it feels like the club is really building into something special.
“After making the playoffs this year I think it’s just made everyone hungrier to go even further next season.”
Head Coach Allan Coleman said: “It’s great to keep Matt. He missed a few games in the first half of the season but then when we got him back, you could see how much he improved the team.
“He’s a natural athlete, he’s tough and aggressive. He’s the epitome of a modern-day centre. He complements our team really well, so I’m over the moon to retain him.”
Retentions like this are assisted by the fantastic Widnes VIPS scheme in place to strengthen the Vikings’ squad. If fans wish to sign up for the scheme they can do so here
Everyone at the club is delighted to see Matt extend his stay and can’t wait to see him pulling on the jersey for the next two seasons.
