LUCAS GREEN TO CONTINUE WITH VIKINGS ON SEASON LOAN

Widnes Vikings are pleased to announce that Lucas Green will continue with the club on loan for the remainder of the season from Warrington Wolves.

Green has appeared from the bench in our recent victories over Halifax Panthers and Bradford Bulls via Dual Registration.

Head of Operations Chris Hamilton said: “The current rules mean that, because Lucas hasn’t played 4 games as a Dual Registered player, he wouldn’t be able to play for us beyond this Friday’s end-of-season transfer deadline.

“With that in mind, we have, with the help of Gary Chambers and Warrington, taken him onboard as a loan player, which means he can stay with us until the end of the season.”

Warrington holds a recall clause to bring Lucas back should they need him, as is the case with season loans.

Head Coach Allan Coleman said: “Lucas is a player we rate very highly and I think people could see on Sunday what he’s about.

“He changes the flow of the game when he comes on and he plays with tons of aggression, you can see how his energy levels lift the team.

“It’s great to keep him until the end of the season.”
