Widnes Vikings head coach John Kear was pleased to see a positive response from his side as they returned to winning ways with a win at Swinton Lions.
A four-try blitz in the middle of the first half put the Vikings 24-0 up, and they eventually ran in nine tries to win 48-16.
Kear said: “I’m absolutely delighted because I thought the response to last week was first class, and you saw that in the first 20 minutes. We absolutely flew out of the blocks and I asked for a response and they certainly delivered that.
“I thought the half-back partnership was excellent and I thought we looked more like the Widnes of earlier in the season.

“I knew we were on point when Fozard makes the break, Jack Owens the half back is in support and then the full back. And that’s what you need in the middle of the field, and it was a great try.
“You knew then we were on point and we were ready to play. It’s been a great afternoon. We had a period or two where we’ve looked a bit iffy, but generally I’m very happy.
“They’re a good team. The big disappointment for me was the try after the injury when there was a stoppage for a few minutes and we just didn’t organise ourselves. If we could take that try out I really would be smiling! But there’s loads and loads of plus points and we’ve certainly improved upon last week.”
Debutant Zach Eckersley ran in a hat-trick of tries after joining on loan from Wigan in midweek, and Kear was full of praise for the youngster.
“We knew he had great footwork and speed and he can defend. You can see he is a Wigan player in the making.
“All three tries were very good, he showed good footwork and good pace and that’s what you want from a three-quarter. So I’m really pleased for him, and really pleased with what he’s contributed to us.”
