Widnes Vikings can confirm a number of player injury updates ahead of Monday night’s fixture against Halifax Panthers.
Tom Gilmore has successfully undergone surgery on a pectoral injury this week, which he sustained following the Round 1 victory over York RLFC Knights. He will start his rehab programme in the coming weeks and is expected to be out for 4-5 months.
Max Roberts has had a scan on an ankle problem that he picked up in the pre-season game at Oldham. Initial rehabilitation proved unsuccessful, so he now requires surgery. He is expected to be out for 4-5 months.
Owen Farnworth has been out of action due to illness. He is continuing his recovery and will then follow a graded return to training and playing.
Finally, Ollie Brooks sustained a hamstring injury during the Oldham game, he is expected to be available in the next 2-3 weeks.
