Widnes Vikings would like to say a massive well done to all the staff at Vertu Motors for raising an incredible £20,000 for the NHS, through their ‘Haircuts for Heroes’ initiative.
Vertu Motors is the parent company of the Vikings’ Principle Partners for the 2020 season, Bristol Street Motors, with their staff getting involved in this fantastic fundraiser for a great cause.
Staff from Bristol Street Motors, and the entire Vertu Motors group, have been cutting, dying and shaving their hair and/or beards from home while the barbers and hairdressers are closed. The money they would have spent on their trip for a haircut has then been donated to their cause, with the funds raised helping the NHS through the Coronavirus pandemic.
When the fundraising began, the target was set at an ambitious £10,000, with the company’s Head Office in Newcastle promising to double the pot if this goal was met.
From multi-coloured beards, box dyes and DIY mohawks, there has been a fantastic response from staff at Vertu Motors since Haircuts for Heroes began.
Thanks to the generosity of their staff and members of the public, Vertu Motors were able to meet their target and in doing so have donated an incredible £20,000 to the NHS during these testing times.
Bristol Street Motors entered into a partnership with the Vikings ahead of the 2020 season, with their brand proudly displayed on the front of all three shirts.
The local Nissan dealership, located a stone’s throw away from the DCBL Stadium on Moor Lane, offers fantastic deals on new and used cars, as well as providing competitively priced fuel from their on-site forecourt.
All 2020 Vikings Season Ticket Holders can save on their fuel when they visit Bristol Street Motors, accessing a 2p per litre discount on production of their 2020 Season Ticket card. Although the season is currently suspended, supporters can still access this brilliant offer any day of the week thanks to our Vikings Rewards scheme.
The Moor Lane site will reopen on Monday 1st June, with social distancing measures in place to ensure the safety of all customers and staff. While appointments aren’t mandatory for sales visits, staff at Bristol Street Motors would advise booking in advance to avoid disappointment.
