Widnes Vikings can confirm that the Match Review Panel have decided to take no further action against Adam Lawton following his red card in the final minute of our Round 10 clash with Sheffield Eagles.
The second rower was sent-off on the hooter for a tackle off the ball, however at Thursday’s disciplinary review of Betfred Championship, League 1, Women’s Super League and Academy fixtures the panel deemed it as send-off sufficient.
Any ban imposed on Lawton would not have come into play until next week, as per the disciplinary process at Championship level, but these findings now mean he will not face a ban for the red card.
