Widnes Vikings are delighted to announce that Liam Bent will continue with the Vikings in 2025.
Bent, 27, joined the club ahead of the 2022 season, he has made 44 appearances for the Vikings, scoring one try.
A clause in Bent’s contract triggered a second-year option after he met the required number of appearances last season.
He made 19 appearances in 2024.
On his new deal, Bent said: “I’m really happy to stay with the club for another season and I’m excited by what we could potentially achieve next year.
“I’m proud to be able to represent this great club for another year.
“I think it’s massively important that we set further goals and attempt to advance further, to build as a team and club. Onwards and upwards from here on in hopefully.”
Head Coach Allan Coleman said: “Liam was absolutely unbelievable for us in the last 10 weeks of the season. He was one of the standout middles in the competition at the back end of this year.
“His work rate if phenomenal, how hard he works and how hard he trains. He was the first name on the teamsheet in the last 10 games.
“Benty will improve even further next year, he’s a brilliant player and a brilliant person. We’re delighted to keep hold of him for another year.”
