Widnes Vikings are delighted to announce that Max Roberts has signed a new deal to keep him with the club in 2025.
Roberts, 24, joined the club ahead of the 2023 season, he has made 45 appearances for the Vikings, scoring nine tries.
He scored four tries in 31 appearances in 2024.
On his new deal, Roberts said: “I’m buzzing to sign for an extra year with the club. I’ve really enjoyed my last two years here and I’m really looking forward to the next.
“There’s a good culture and atmosphere starting to grow around the club.
“Allan’s bringing back the engagement with the fans and the community, which is only going continue to grow.
He added: “ I’ve got the best sponsors in the league, they come home and away.
“Win or lose they always support myself and the lads. Just want to say a massive thank you to the Widiots.”
Head Coach Allan Coleman said: “We told him this year that we wanted him to focus more in the middle, we thought his aggression and his speed would benefit our middle.
“He’s done brilliantly this year whether it be in the middle, second row, or at centre.
“Long-term I see him as a second row, he’s developed that understanding of the aggression that comes with playing in the pack and he’s still got the speed which will be a perfect combination.
“It was a no-brainer for us to retain Max, he’s a dream for a coach.”
