Paul Clough

DATE of Birth    27/09/1987

St Helens born Paul initially joined the Vikings on a season-long loan for 2014 but was no stranger to Widnes, having been a member of the Saints team based at the then Stobart Stadium in 2011. He played his junior rugby with the Blackbrook club, before signing Scholarship forms with St Helens, and progressing through the Academy ranks to make his senior bow from the bench against Hull FC in 2005. Gaining further experience with Bradford Bulls and Huddersfield Giants the England Knights forward brings a wealth of experience and big game know-how on his return to the Vikings having appeared in four Grand Finals and two successful Challenge Cup Finals, which he cites as his career highlights to date. Naming his parents as the biggest influence on his career ‘Cloughy’ aims to play his part in returning Widnes to the top flight while combining rugby with his role as a Financial Adviser. Away from the game Paul is a keen follower of the NFL and particularly the New England Patriots.
