WIDNES VIKINGS CARER POLICY
Disabled people wishing to attend Widnes Vikings matches will:
Pay the full appropriate admission charge according to their age entitling the purchaser to a free ‘Carer Match Day Ticket’
To be eligible for the free ‘Carer Match Day Ticket’ the disabled person must bring relevant proof that they are in receipt of a Carer Component of the Disability Living Allowance when purchasing the ticket, either in advance at the Vikings Superstore located within Tesco Extra (Widnes) or at the Vikings Ticket Offices on the day of the game.
If you do not have the Care Component of the Disability Living Allowance, you must be able to provide other evidence which proves you are unable to attend a game without a Carers assistant, ie GP or Carers Association letter. The Carer policy is exclusive only to those who cannot attend a fixture alone and are in the need of the assistance of their full time carer. The Club reserves the right to refuse to issue a free Carers complimentary ticket if they are unable to provide sufficient evidence.
The Carer must accompany the disabled person throughout the game.
Only one free Carer ticket per person will be issued.
Stronghold Members Carer Policy
The club will request when a disabled person purchases their stronghold membership, they provide relevant proof that they are in receipt of a Care Component of the Disability Living Allowance or alternatively If they do not have the Care Component of the Disability Living Allowance, they must be able to provide other evidence which proves you are unable to attend a game without a Carers assistant, ie GP or Carers Association letter. They will only be asked to provide this proof once at the beginning of each season. They will then be issued with both memberships. Carer membership packages are available at a minimal rate as the carer shall be in receipt of general stronghold benefits.
Carer Policy for Non Stronghold Member Attending with a Disabled Stronghold Member
For those disabled who wish to purchase a stronghold membership but whose carer does not want to join, the following rules will apply:-
The club will request when a disabled person purchases their stronghold membership. The carer must report along with the disabled person on the day of each fixture, to the ticket office window where they will be asked to provide their proof of eligibility. This must be done on a match by match basis.
Purchase of Single Match Day Ticket
You can purchase your tickets at pre match prices in advance from the Viking Superstore located within Tesco Extra (Widnes) or alternatively by telephone (0151 495 2250 Option 2). No tickets will be issued at the point of purchase.
The purchaser shall be issued with a booking reference number. This will be required to collect your tickets from the collection window (south stand car park) on the day of the game.
You can also purchase your ticket and your complimentary Carer ticket on the day of the game from the ticket office window, providing you produce the required proof of carer component. This ticket will be issued at match day rate. The Club reserves the right to refuse to issue a free Carers complimentary ticket if you are unable to provide sufficient evidence.
The Club ensures that it makes all match days accessible to all supporters and that we do all we can to meet everyone’s needs. We ask for your cooperation regarding this policy and request your understanding that this system is in place to prevent potential abuse.
The Club reserves the right to remove the Carer privilege of any spectator not adhering to our Carer policy.
