Chemics Café - September

4th September 2019

Widnes Vikings hosted the latest Chemics Café on Wednesday 4th September, a Dementia support event which is held in partnership with Community Integrated Care every month.

Members of the Vikings First Team called in to say hello to the participants, as they sat down for a cup of tea and a chat while reminiscing about their favourite Vikings memories.

The club's 'Golden Generation' group were also in attendance to assist with the running of the event, with plenty of fun activities on hand to be enjoyed by all.

About Chemics Café

Chemics Café is a fantastic resource for people experiencing the challenges of dementia and is open to all – from people living in local care homes, to people who live independently in the community, as well as family carers and supporters who simply want to volunteer and help out.

The programme is held in partnership with Community Integrated Care, an award-winning social care charity that provides specialist dementia care to people in Halton.

The event gives participants an opportunity to socialise, have fun, and reconnect with their treasured Widnes Vikings memories, amongst iconic memorabilia and trophies. With experienced dementia care professionals attending every event, people can also find practical support and advice on living with the condition.

If you, or someone who you love, is affected by dementia, then find support, friendship and happy times at Widnes Vikings’ Chemics Café.
