Sheffield & Featherstone Games Confirmed

17th May 2019

Widnes Vikings can confirm the re-arranged date for the club’s postponed Sheffield Eagles game, as well as details on our 1895 Cup tie against Featherstone Rovers.

The Vikings were made to postpone their home game against the Eagles earlier in the season due to the club entering administration. Following the successful takeover of the club, the Vikings can now confirm the re-arranged date of the game.

The club were informed that the fixture against Sheffield Eagles needed to be played on the first weekend made free in our schedule. Due to our exit in the Challenge Cup last Friday, the weekend of the 31st May become available to use. Therefore, the Vikings will take on Mark Aston’s men on Friday 31st May (kick-off 7:45pm) at the Halton Stadium.

Prior to the original postponement, the club were running a #10kChallenge for our games against Sheffield and Featherstone, with a high number of tickets sold to supporters ahead of the proposed fixture. Following the postponement, the club informed supporters to keep hold of their purchased tickets for the re-arranged game.

The club can now confirm that all tickets purchased for the Sheffield Eagles game, for both home and away supporters, will be honoured. The process for the exchange and honouring of tickets will be released in due course.

With the Vikings taking on Sheffield Eagles on Friday 31st May, the club has the 1895 Cup tie upcoming against Featherstone Rovers. After conversations with Featherstone, it has been confirmed that our cup tie in the 1895 Cup will take place five days after the Sheffield Eagles fixture on Wednesday 5th June (kick-off 8:00pm).

Widnes Vikings will announce full ticket details for this first game on our #RoadToWembley in due course.
