Jayden Hatton has been named in Widnes Vikings’ match day side to face Batley Bulldogs today, with Jayden set to make his debut for the club at centre.

The talented outside back has been with Widnes Vikings through every stage of its youth pathway, from the Development Squad to now the first team squad.

A former Wade Deacon student, Jayden has represented Halton Farnworth Hornets since the age of 6 during his time in community rugby in the town.

Following his impressive performances in the club’s Academy last season, Jayden was handed the honour of being selected for the Lancashire squad in 2018 for the Academy State of Origin series, as well as taking on Australian Schoolboys in December of last year.

Jayden Hatton, says: “It’s a real pleasure to be given the chance to represent my home town club against Batley today.

“This opportunity has probably come earlier than I expected it to, and when I was told I was overwhelmed with pride.

“I’m just buzzing to be selected for the first team, and I can’t wait to pull on the shirt and show everybody what I can do.

“Ahead of my debut, I just want to thank my mum and dad, as well as my nan and grandad. They have always supported me growing up, and telling me that I would make it. I can't wait to play.”

Jayden will wear number 29 for the Vikings at the Fox’s Biscuits Stadium.

Jayden Hatton is proudly sponsored by Warmer Energy Services.
