Norman committed to the Vikings

20th October 2018

Widnes Vikings supporters are reminded that Dan Norman signed a new contract with the club back in August, and is part of the long list of academy products to commit their future to the Vikings.

The Vikings revealed that they had offered to honour all of the contracts of players aged 22 or under irrespective of the division the club was in, and Norman was part of the cohort that committed to remaining at the Halton Stadium.

The 20-year-old has been with the club since the age of 16, climbing through the ranks to make his Super League debut back in June away to Salford Red Devils.

Norman has impressed on dual registration with partner club North Wales Crusaders, featuring 17 times during the 2018 campaign.

After gaining praise from Crusaders for his performances in League 1, the forward is now looking to establish himself in the Vikings first team moving forward.

Speaking in August, Norman said: “I’m made up to have signed a new deal with the club.

“I’ve been here since the Academy, so about four years now, and I couldn’t think of anywhere I’d rather be.

“I’ve got some great friends here, and I really get on with all of the lads. Seeing some of the young lads step up to the first team really motivates me.

“I’m hoping to get some more games under my belt in 2019 and try to push myself to be in the 17 more regularly.”

Dan Norman is proudly sponsored by the Lowe Family.
