Widnes Vikings are giving local businesses the chance to support the team for the 2019 season and help the club in their attempts to bounce back to Super League, by attending their Business, Sport and Wellbeing Networking Event this Wednesday.

The Vikings have invited all companies who have supported the club over the last year to join the event which will be sponsored by partners C&C Insurance Brokers Limited, forming part of the club’s successful ‘Business Ambassador Network’ programme.

The following businesses have already commited to attending the event:

C&C Insurance Brokers, Madabout Media, Riverside College, Delivered Health Solutions, Money Matters, Cordant People, Widnes Vikings Away Travel, Anthonys Travel, Motorpoint, Rinnai UK, Electrod, West End Motors, Sleeptight Beds, DMR Motors, Harold Prescott and Sons, Parklands Sports and Social Club, Skin Deep Aesthetics, Polyblend, British Legion, Chestnut Motors, Tall Print Security, GMB Union, WMR Metal Recycling, About Flowers, Emerald Kalama, Mini Crane Hire Limited, Musical Allsorts, CG Engineering, The Learning Curve and Care Shop.

After receiving a raft of support from current partners, the Vikings commercial team would like to open the invite to any business who may be interested in partnering with the club ahead of a crucial season in the Betfred Championship.

The event will take place in the Halton Suite at the Halton Stadium on Wednesday 3rd October, with a number of guest speakers offering valuable insight. Headlining those speakers is dual-code legend Jason Robinson OBE, who will be talking about conquering both rugby league and rugby union along with his success in business after retiring from sport. Super League CEO Robert Elstone will also be offering his thoughts on brand identity, while former rugby league star Danny Sculthorpe will be underlining the importance of mental resilience in the workplace.

Vikings Commercial and Community Director, Richard Munson, commented: “We are delighted to be able to welcome a number of businesses to our Networking Event on Wednesday.

“As a club, we have always had tremendous backing from the business community both during and before Super League. The response since our relegation has been incredible and I would like to thank every single business and partner that has committed to attending the event, showing their unwavering support for the club.

“The Vikings still offer huge commercial value in 2019, and there are still a number of opportunities for businesses to pledge their support and give the club the best possible chance of bouncing back to the top flight.”
