Cummins gives injury update

3rd September 2018

Francis Cummins assesses the Club’s injury situation ahead of the clash against Leeds Rhinos on Sunday 9th September.

The Vikings Interim Head Coach spoke to the media on Monday afternoon, and gave an injury update ahead of the game against the Rhinos.

“Charlie Gubb is looking fit and ready to go against Leeds this week,” he said.

“The Toulouse game came a little bit too quickly for him. But he’s working hard already this week to be ready and in the side to take on Leeds on Sunday.

"To add to this, it’s been great to welcome Jordan Johnstone back into the mix after his spell on the sidelines following a syndesmosis injury. He will come into my thinking for this weekend and adds competition for places in the starting side this week.

“To offset that positive news, Gil Dudson came out of the game against Toulouse with an ankle injury after being taken from the field during the 80 minutes.

“Gil is currently on crutches at the moment, and it’s looking quite serious. He’s been to see a specialist today but it isn’t looking likely that we’ll see him again this year.

“We took a couple more bumps and bruises in the game, but nothing that will rule anybody else out of the game against the Rhinos this weekend.”

The Vikings current injury list still contains Stefan Marsh, Rhys Hanbury, Ryan Ince and Hep Cahill.
