On Wednesday morning, Widnes Vikings hosted their quarterly Business Ambassador Network Meeting at the Halton Stadium, as club partners were brought together in a unique setting.

The Network, which is supported by Uniqwin Security, provides a platform for local business leaders to network together, identify commercial opportunities and share best practice. Since the launch of the Business Ambassador Network in 2015, members have played a pivotal role in the delivery of some of the Vikings’ most successful community projects, such as the Game Changer Programme and the Vikings Learning Centre.

The latest gathering of the Ambassador Network saw guests meet in the iconic first team changing rooms surrounded by the shirts of some of the Club’s top local talents, as they were joined by Interim Head Coach Francis Cummins.

Over in the Delivered Health Solutions Performance Centre, Vikings Women’s Head Coach Andy Sheridan and vice-captain Meg Jackson spoke to the attendees about the success of the team’s first ever season. They also revealed their plans for growing the game within the area, as there are currently no community clubs for young girls hoping to get involved in rugby league.

Dave Rolt then took to the microphone to quiz Francis Cummins, who guided listeners through his career to date as both a player and a coach. He then spoke about the importance of the Club’s hugely successful Academy programme, and how it is forming a strong foundation for a successful future for the Vikings.

Community and Commercial Director Richard Munson commented: “Our Business Ambassadors Meeting was hugely successful, and it was great to see so many of our partners in attendance.

“It is vital that we provide this unique networking platform for our commercial partners, who give so much to the Club. It was great to have Andy, Meg and Francis share with our guests some of the brilliant work going on behind the scenes.

“The support of our partners is crucial to what we do both on and off the field, so we are delighted to assist businesses in recognition of their support of the Club.”
