Widnes Vikings forward, MacGraff Leuluai, says it was a proud achievement to pass 150 appearances for Widnes Vikings last weekend against St Helens.

Leuluai came off the bench in the Vikings’ defeat at the Totally Wicked Stadium on Friday night to hit the milestone. MacGraff joined the Club back in 2011, making the step up the following season alongside the Vikings to the Betfred Super League.

The 28-year old told the Vikings Media Team that reaching 150 appearances for Widnes Vikings is something he is delighted to achieve.

“For myself, it’s a big achievement to hit 150 games,” he said.

“I came over and started with the Club in the Championship all those years ago, so it’s something that I’m really proud to have reached last weekend.”

MacGraff has spent eight seasons at the Halton Stadium, scoring 14 tries, and says his prolonged stay at the Vikings is down to a couple of reasons.

“The first reason is that we’ve always had a good group of lads every year that I’ve been here,” he said.

“We are a very close knit-group and it’s something that has worked for us during my time with the club.

“The second reason is the fans. They have always got behind us during the time I’ve been at Widnes and they have been brilliant with me.”

Leuluai has experienced a lot of personal highs, along with lows such as injuries in 2017, during his time at the Vikings. The forward points to two specific memories which he sees as personal highlights.

“Making my Super League debut in 2012 was a big one for me,” he said.

“Coming up from the Championship, one of my goals was always to play in Super League, so that sticks out for me.

“Another highlight, although it took me about two years to finally get it, was scoring my first try for Widnes. That was a brilliant moment.”

Leuluai’s focus turns to this weekend’s game against Hull Kingston Rovers, with the Vikings looking to record a victory in Francis Cummins’ first home game in charge.

MacGraff believes Saturday’s game to be of huge importance, and one the first team are targeting to get a positive result out of.

“Saturday is a big game for us, especially at home,” he said.

“We haven’t had a win for a while, so Hull KR is the game we are targeting to break that run and get the result. They’re a big team and they’ve had some good wins recently.

“They managed to beat us on their own ground earlier in the year, too. So we know it’s going to be a really tough game, but we have to believe we can get the win.

“I think these games are about building now. We need to try to progress from one game to the next, so when we do come to those Qualifiers, we are ready to take them on.“

Leuluai made a final note to the Club’s supporters, and asked them to continue their brilliant support and get behind them both this weekend, and for the remainder of 2018.

“There’s always a loyal group of supporters that stick behind us home and away,” he said.

“We really appreciate that support at the minute. Hopefully, we can get a big crowd in on the weekend against Hull KR, as it will be a lift to us on the field.”
