Are you heading to Perpignan to cheer the boys on against Catalans Dragons on Saturday June 9?

The Vikings travel to the South of France, hoping to keep their top eight hopes alive and climb off the foot of the Betfred Super League table. We have a good record against the Dragons and recorded a convincing 40-12 victory over Steve McNamara’s side at the Halton Stadium back in February.

If you are travelling to the Stade Gilbert Brutus, here is some information that will help with your time in the area:

FOOD AND DRINK:

There are plenty of options for food and drink in and around the local area, especially in Perpignan Town Centre.

Café De La Source is a popular spot for travelling fans and has screens to show live Sky Sports fixtures. Grand Café De La Poste is another popular choice and is close to Le Castillet, where you can get a bus to the stadium.

Place D’Arago has several other eateries which are in close proximity to the two main fan bars, giving supporters the chance to get together in the city centre’s main square.

If you would prefer to meet closer to the stadium, there is a bar on the corner of Avenue De La Salanque, which is right outside the ground.

TRANSPORT:

By Bus:

If you are traveling into the area from Spain by bus, they will drop you off at the stands by Le Castillet, which is near to the popular bars and cafés outlined above.

Le Castillet will also be the most efficient way of getting to the ground. Fans should get on the number 4, 12, 13 or 14, which all have stops outside the ground. Be sure to get off at the Stade Gilbert Brutus rather than the Stade Aime Giral, the town’s rugby union stadium.

Bus transport is free if you present your ticket for the game. Alternatively, there is the option to walk, although it may take between 30-45 minutes.

Food and drink is available to buy inside the ground with the use of tokens, which can also be purchased in the ground itself.

There will be a variety of activities around the ground pre-game, which could include bouncy castles, live music, climbing walls and much more.

THINGS TO DO IN THE AREA:

If you are heading to Perpignan, make sure to maximise your visit and take a look at some of the local attractions on offer.

The Palais des Rois de Majorque and Pepignan’s cathedral, the Basilique-Cathédrale de Saint-Jean-Baptiste, provide stunning architecture. In addition, the Narbonnaise en Méditerranée Natural Regional Park and the town of Carcassonne are just a short drive away.
