Two young girls were given the experience of a life-time when being part of our Rinnai UK Dream Maker initiative against St Helens on Easter Monday.

Hellen and Eleanor, along with two of their close friends came down to the Halton Stadium last Monday for an experience they will not forget. The two girls were rewarded with this day following a recommendation by Child Bereavement UK after both girls had been through severe personal troubles recently.

The group were greeted by the Vikings Community staff on arrival, before being surprised by Vikings first team star Jay Chapelhow. The front rower provided the family with an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the inner sanctums of the Vikings first team, including the dressing room and Delivered Health Solutions Performance Centre.

Him and his family were put up in the C&C Karalius Suite and enjoyed pre-game festivities led by Dave Rolt, before being taken downstairs at full-time to meet each of the Vikings’ first team squad and secure memories to last a life time.

Charlotte Jakeman, Education Officer at the Vikings, says: “It was an absolute pleasure to welcome the girls and their friends on Easter Monday.”

“Both of them had a wonderful time, and it was a day that was fully deserved after the turmoil the pair have gone through in recent times. Their favourite part of the day was the tour led by Jay, and he was brilliant with them and giving them an insight into the life of a rugby league player.”

“On behalf of everyone at Widnes Vikings, we hope they left the stadium last week with great memories and it was a day filled with happiness.”
