Vikings support Zoe Ball challenge

5th March 2018

Widnes Vikings will be welcoming TV star Zoe Ball to the Halton Stadium today, as she completes the first stage of an epic Sport Relief fundraising challenge.

This week, Zoe will be cycling 350 miles from Blackpool to Brighton in just five days, raising awareness of how Sport Relief cash helps support mental health projects across the UK.

At 4.30pm today, Zoe will be joined on the final two miles of her first day on the road by Vikings stars Chris Houston, Charly Runciman, Hep Cahill and Aaron Heremaia, as well as coaches Denis Betts and Mick Cassidy.

She will be welcomed to the Halton Stadium at around 5.00pm by members of the Vikings’ staff team, and the Vikings partners at MIND Halton and Community Integrated Care. Zoe will also meet members of the Offload programme, the Vikings community project that helps build men’s mental fitness.

Denis Betts, Head Coach, says: “Zoe is taking on a really impressive challenge for a fantastic cause, so we are honoured to be welcoming her to the Halton Stadium today. We are delighted to give her our support as she reaches the final stages of her first day on the road. We hope that Vikings supporters help get behind her campaign, by donating generously to the cause.”
