Vikings Team News

Denis Betts has confirmed that fullback Rhys Hanbury will unlikely feature again in 2017 following the adductor injury suffered against Leigh Centurions.

Denis also confirmed that Danny Craven will miss out on Saturday’s trip to Hull Kingston Rovers, but will be assessed further later to see the full extent of the injury. It is hoped that Danny will be available to return for the Vikings remaining Super 8s fixtures.

The Vikings have Chris Dean and Aaron Heremaia back in contention for Saturday’s game following their spells on the sidelines. Denis Betts discussed his satisfaction at the return of these two senior squad members at this vital stage of the season.

Formbook

Both of these sides head into this fixture on the back of a great current run of form.

The Vikings have three victories out of their opening four games in the Super 8s, The Qualifiers, with wins over Halifax RLFC, Featherstone Rovers and Leigh Centurions following an opening weekend defeat to Warrington Wolves.

Tim Sheens’ side, along with Warrington, can boast an unbeaten start to their Super 8s, The Qualifiers campaign with four wins in four games. The arguably biggest of those wins came against Betfred Super League side Leigh Centurions, to put them within touching distance of a return to the top flight at the first attempt.
