Widnes Vikings latest debutant Owen Farnworth talks about making his first Super League appearance at Leeds Rhinos on Easter Monday.
Farnworth, along with Liam Walsh, were part of the matchday squad that took on the Rhinos at Headingley Carnegie Stadium on Monday 17th April.
On his debut at Leeds - “It was good. It was something that I’ve always wanted to do from growing up and playing with Chorley Panthers and then signing with Widnes. Just getting the chance to play was something that I’ve wanted to do.”
“Just walking out and the atmosphere was mental with all the drums banging and flags waving, as well as walking out with a mascot was something that I’ve never experienced before.”
On the Vikings academy - “We’re a close knit bunch here, and thats been through scholarship. We’re all part of one team and we want to work for each other and we connect well as a group.”
On getting the Supporters man of the match - “Yeah I was buzzing. Hopefully I can get more of them and get more games in the future.”
