Born in Mendi, Southern Highlands, Papua New Guinea, Wellington, who provides the unusual combination of playing at either Prop or Wing, represented the Giluwe Tigers, Mendi Muruks and Lae Snax Tigers in domestic rugby league before joining the Hunters in 2017. In 2014 he signed a two-year deal with NRL outfit Penrith Panthers where he built his reputation in the NYC and Intrust Super Premiership competitions. 'Wello' names his try-scoring debut for PNG against New Zealand in the 2013 World Cup as his career highlight before going on to gain further selection in the 2015 Melanesian Cup against Fiji and the 2017 World Cup. Dedicated to improving himself as a player and securing a place in the Widnes first team Wellington, who gained further International recognition in 2018, aims to bring his power and pace to the Vikings promotion push. The former U18 Schoolboy International has also played Basketball and likes to read and watch films in his spare time.
