Born in Enniskillen Liam later played his junior rugby for Halton Farnworth Hornets, and was indebted to 'Dad's Taxi' for getting him to training sessions and matches. 'Walshy' joined the Widnes Scholarship programme at the age of 14 and he realised an early ambition when he penned his first senior professional contract with his local club, which came into effect in 2018. A regular member of the England Youth set up Liam was one of four Widnes products to tour Australia to represent his country at Academy level in July 2016, progressing through the Club's Academy system with his Liam's career highlight coming in April 2017 when he achieved his ambition of representing Widnes in Super League, and was also selected for the new National Performance Programme. After an elbow injury interrupted 2018 Liam is now looking to secure a regular first team place, while away from the game he is a keen cinema-goer and fisherman.
