Wigan born Sam played his junior rugby with Wigan St. Pats, progressing to the WiganAcademy, and gaining representative honours for the Service Area and Lancashire U16's, before joining Halifax where he made his senior debut. Spells with Rochdale and Whitehaven followed along with his career highlight to date of making his international debut for Scotland against France in the 2015 European Championships. Sam's immediate ambition is to cement a place in the Vikings first team and gain selection for the Scotland Four Nations squad as he targets a long Super League career. 2016 saw Sam make his Super League debut against Catalans Dragons in Perpignan while also representing Scotland in the Four Nations Tournament. Away from the game Sam is a keen supporter of Liverpool FC.
